Debt Relief With Help From an Arlington Chapter 7 Bankruptcy Attorney

A Chapter 7 bankruptcy is designed to stop the existence of lawsuits that have been filed against you, and temporarily stop the taking of your property through foreclosure. I often refer to Chapter 7 as liquidation bankruptcy, where your debts are divided into secured and unsecured debts.

In a Chapter 7, your unsecured debts will be discharged and your secured debts will be liquidated in order to fulfill your debt obligations. I can help you determine whether your property (or real assets) are exempt or non-exempt, and what personal belongings you are able to keep.

It is a common misconception that in a Chapter 7 bankruptcy an individual loses everything he or she owns. The reality of most situations is that you will not lose any of your personal belongings. Should you decide to file for Chapter 7, as your attorney I will work with you throughout the entire bankruptcy process, and file the petition on your behalf.

Many of my clients have questions regarding home foreclosure and bankruptcy. If you want to keep your home in a Chapter 7, you must get current with your payments. If you are unable to get current with your payments, you may want to consider a Chapter 13 bankruptcy.
